Man Gets 61 Years in Murder Over Grass Clippings

WASHINGTON - A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to 61 years in prison for fatally shooting a landscaper over some grass clippings that landed on him as he was walking by. Lankward Harrington was found guilty of second-degree murder after he took the stand and admitted shooting Jose Villatoro on Oct. 16, 2006. D.C. Superior Court Judge Geoffrey Alprin sentenced Harrington on Thursday. The judge imposed a term far above voluntary sentencing guidelines because of the nature of the crime. Read more...
