NEW YORK (AP) - Adding heft to a safety investigation, a judge late Friday ordered the captain of a crashed Staten Island ferry to appear in federal court to explain why he has not complied with a subpoena from investigators.
U.S. District Judge Frederic Block ordered Michael Gansas to appear Nov. 5 to explain why a National Transportation Safety Board subpoena should not be enforced.
