MUNCIE - A former Ball State University student accused of posing as a cancer victim was described by her attorney Monday as "a very sick young lady" with "a significant, long-term psychological condition."
Brookelyn Walters, 24, from Culver in northwestern Indiana, is charged with three counts of forgery and two counts of theft. The charges stem in part from fund-raising activities conducted by people who believed Walters's claims of serious illness.
