A Will County activist who founded a local chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving was convicted Tuesday of stealing more than $45,000 from the group by pocketing fees that would have funded programs for victims of drunk drivers.
Antoinette Wilda, 48, started a Will County MADD chapter after her son was killed by a drunken driver in 1993. She faces anywhere from probation to seven years in prison for the felony theft conviction.
