REDWOOD CITY - Two hair fragments reportedly found in pliers in Scott Peterson's boat probably were not from a single hair, a prosecution expert testified Thursday.
The testimony undercut an earlier prosecution assertion that a single hair belonging to Laci Peterson broke in an evidence envelope.
The hair fragments have been the only physical evidence presented at trial that could link Laci Peterson to her husband's boat, which prosecutors contend he used to dump his pregnant wife's body in San Francisco Bay.
