FORT SMITH, Ark. -- Fort Smith police said late Tuesday that they arrested a former United Way employee who is accused of stealing $17,000 from the agency. Investigators said Fonda Beckham stole the money while she was working for the charity organization's Fort Smith office. She was arrested near Hartford around 4 p.m.
