DENVER (Reuters) - The judge in the Kobe Bryant rape case took steps on Tuesday to release an edited version of a confidential transcript concerning the accuser's sexual history that was mistakenly sent by the court to media organizations.
District Judge Terry Ruckriegle told prosecutors and defense attorneys to figure out a way to jointly produce an edited version of the transcript of a closed-door pretrial hearing that took place on June 21 and June 22 in Eagle, Colorado.
After the transcript from the hearing was sent to the media outlets in error, the judge told the companies not to publish the information, triggering a free speech legal battle that ended up at the U.S. Supreme Court
