Teacher Charged With DUI on 1st Day of School

A Slaughter Elementary School teacher was charged this week with driving drunk while she was on her way to work on the first day of school. Authorities say Sherry Bartlett, 45, had a blood-alcohol content of .20 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08, when she was arrested Tuesday morning. Bartlett, a fifth-grade teacher, pleaded not guilty yesterday during an arraignment in Jefferson District Court. Posted by Webmaster at August 24, 2004 02:08 AM
